"Spent a lovely afternoon walking the alpacas around the beautiful valley where they live, near Lampeter. Mandy is a great host, made us feel very welcome and told us all about the alpacas as we were going along. Then we had a lovely cream tea in the meadow to finish. Would definitely recommend! Big thanks to Bingley and Willoughby, who were very well behaved!"
"We had the most wonderful experience with the Alpacas. It was our anniversary and Mandy prepared our lunch after we had a trek. I would happily recommend the experience - it's a memory I shall treasure."
"I booked this experience for my mum for Christmas as she is obsessed with alpacas. I selected the cream tea option. The food was amazing but the best was obviously the alpacas. They were so friendly. The lady who runs it is called Mandy and she was amazing. So professional and really friendly. We loved every minute of it and will be booking again soon."
"We had the best time at Woodlands Alpacas. Walking with the beautiful Bingley and Willoughby, followed by a delicious cream tea. Mandy is a great host/trek leader, very knowledgeable and obviously passionate about her business. We can't recommend this enough. We didn't want to leave and will definitely be back."
"An amazing experience trekking with Mandy and the alpacas through the valley. Mandy is a lovely host/guide, very knowledgeable and friendly and the alpacas are awesome! Each one has its own personality and they are very well behaved. After the trek we got to feed the alpacas followed by fresh scones and welsh cakes. Would recommend and will certainly be going again."
"Had such an amazing time. Mandy our host was waiting when we arrived and introduced us to her alpacas. We then went for a walk through the valley. The scenery is breathtaking and Mandy told us about the area and info on the alpacas. We ended the trip with a lovely cream tea. For alpaca fans this is a must. My daughter summed this up in one word. Epic. Thank you for a great day."
"We arrived to find Mandy our host and two delightful alpaca boys waiting to take us on a trek through the surrounding countryside. It was a great afternoon out in the sun. Mandy talked and walked us through the experience and provided us with a cream tea to finish off the day. Would definitely recommend the Woodlands Alpaca Trek."
Trekking and Experiences
Our trek is just over 3 miles long through the beautiful Aeron Valley. It takes in farmland, open fields, woodlands and riverside and our trekking options include a Ploughmans Lunch or a Welsh Cream Tea,
If walking isn't your thing, you can still come along and have a 'Hands On' Experience in the meadow with all 6 of our alpacas. Get up close and personal with these gorgeous animals and then enjoy a homemade Welsh Cream Tea snuggled up inside Tabitha, our meadow caravan, whilst looking out over our spectacular Aeron Valley views. On sunny days, there is a table and chairs outside of Tabitha and two cushioned sun loungers for a truly relaxing experience.
Our Treks and Experiences are for up to 4 adults only from the same booking. We trek with our 3 boys Willoughby, Bocelli and Bingley. We do not take multiple bookings, meaning your experience will be completely exclusive and private to your group of 2 to 4 adults. Unfortunately, we cannot take children, as some of our alpacas are very unsettled around them. We therefore have a minimum age limit of 16 years.
The trek takes you through beautiful, peaceful countryside with spectacular views but because of this, you will encounter mud and puddles - sensible footwear is ESSENTIAL and we recommend wellington boots or sturdy, waterproof walking boots.
The trek is 3.2 miles long and is a mixture of farm tracks and field walking. There are also a couple of inclines and a medium level of fitness is required.
